While staying at that lovely, famous motel in Tucumcari, NM (more on that later), we should definitely check out another landmark:

The Ultimate in Ridiculous

I have been collecting photos of various "monuments" to Route 66.
Through the years I have seen a lot of clothing for sale at museums (but don't currently own any).
And whereas it might be appropriate for ME to have, say, a Route 66 jacket, there is no way I can endorse the item pictured below.

Eight State Journey

Route 66 travel through 8 states between Illinois and California. This is the last leg of "the journey" for me. :)
